“My entire experience at Bridgewater has been exceptional to say the least. Appointments are kept promptly, and the staff is beyond reproach in their professionalism and courtesy. You could not ask for a better experience! As I said, they are kind, courteous, and impeccably professional. Not to mention the fantastic results! It is marvelous to be able to hear like I could when I was 20 again. I absolutely love my new hearing device. It is easy to wear and very unnoticeable. The technology is top-of-the line, believe me. Love it, love it, love it! Thanks Dr. Baerman and staff. You guys are the greatest!”

"Heidi at the front desk made me feel welcome when I entered the reception room and through my very short waiting time. Amy, the audiologist , was warm and friendly, yet extremely professional. She conducted a hearing evaluation and fitted me with with reasonably priced hearing aids. She spent time making sure that the hearing aids were properly adjusted to maximize my auditory acuity. I highly recommend Bridgewater for the correction of hearing problems."

~ Mike Cravy
"I am a long time hearing aid user but just last year received a new set, Allison has taken such good care of me to getting my hearing tested to getting adjustments on my new hearing aids. She also takes great care of my son and understanding his needs as he also wears hearing aids. Great place to go for all your hearing needs. Everyone in the office is super nice and helpful."

"Dr Baerman is a wonderful person and an even better doctor. I was struggling with hearing loss from an injury and she gave me more time, compassion, and quality of care than I have ever experienced in a medical setting. Her staff is incredible and beyond helpful. I’m honestly floored by how much they care."

~ Dustin Wilhoite
"I have used Bridgewater for several years, and have always received very good service. In recent years I’ve seen Dr. Amy Becker, and she has raised the bar even higher. She and her staff provide a great mixture of competence and professionalism with friendliness and courtesy. I highly recommend Bridgewater-Sevierville. (And by the way, I hear much better also!)"

Welcome to Bridgewater Balance & Hearing

A Letter from Sally Baerman

Why do I love Bridgewater?

I envisioned Bridgewater years ago; a place where people could come, and receive, extraordinary hearing health care and personal service. I have been blessed that Bridgewater has become so much more.

I love Bridgewater because there is no greater satisfaction to me, or my team, that when a patient leaves Bridgewater they are experiencing an improved quality of life. Whether the patient was referred for balance testing and are apprehensive about the long scary name of the tests (Electrocochleography, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials, etc.), or the individual with hearing loss that needs amplification, we develop a trust with them and know that we will do our very best to help them.

I love walking in every morning and being cheerfully greeted by my staff and exchanging small talk as to how our evening or weekends were. Looking at the schedule and getting excited to see a patient I have not seen in months or a new patient for a procedure that will allow me to put the audiological or vestibular puzzle together. Discussing a difficult case with my audiologists invokes the student in me.

But most of all, it is having the time to listen to my patients and address their concerns with compassion and real-life solutions. The success of a day is when a patient conveys to Bridgewater that what we have made a positive difference in their lives.

There is no greater joy to Bridgewater, than when we fit a patient with hearing instruments and they return for follow-ups, they are so elated with their ability to communicate more effectively with their family members. They are able to hear the bird’s sing, their grandchildren, and the preacher at their place of worship.

I have been blessed to find a career that I am passionate about and patients and coworkers who inspire me every day. I believe that my work is a reflection of God’s will and what we do at Bridgewater brings a greater goodness to our world.

We hope that we can help you or your loved one.

Sincerely,
Dr. Sally Baerman

What Can I Expect at My First Appointment?

Relax and take a deep breath… you are not alone! Most patients are anxious about this process in the beginning but try not to worry! Our patients are like family, and we will go to great lengths to make you feel at home and comfortable during this appointment. We will walk you through it every step of the way.

  1. We will gather a detailed case history. You will be asked about medical symptoms, family history, and daily communication struggles.

  2. Audiometric testing will be completed inside a sound-treated booth to quantify the type and degree of hearing loss you may have. (Remember, it may not be permanent hearing loss, which is one reason why the exam is so important.)

  3. We’ll counsel you on the results and treatment options. It’s a good idea to bring a close family member with you for this.

  4. Referrals to other specialists may be indicated based on results.
