Welcome to Bridgewater Balance & Hearing
A Letter from Sally Baerman
Why do I love Bridgewater?
I envisioned Bridgewater years ago; a place where people could come, and receive, extraordinary hearing health care and personal service. I have been blessed that Bridgewater has become so much more.
I love Bridgewater because there is no greater satisfaction to me, or my team, that when a patient leaves Bridgewater they are experiencing an improved quality of life. Whether the patient was referred for balance testing and are apprehensive about the long scary name of the tests (Electrocochleography, Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials, etc.), or the individual with hearing loss that needs amplification, we develop a trust with them and know that we will do our very best to help them.
I love walking in every morning and being cheerfully greeted by my staff and exchanging small talk as to how our evening or weekends were. Looking at the schedule and getting excited to see a patient I have not seen in months or a new patient for a procedure that will allow me to put the audiological or vestibular puzzle together. Discussing a difficult case with my audiologists invokes the student in me.
But most of all, it is having the time to listen to my patients and address their concerns with compassion and real-life solutions. The success of a day is when a patient conveys to Bridgewater that what we have made a positive difference in their lives.
There is no greater joy to Bridgewater, than when we fit a patient with hearing instruments and they return for follow-ups, they are so elated with their ability to communicate more effectively with their family members. They are able to hear the bird’s sing, their grandchildren, and the preacher at their place of worship.
I have been blessed to find a career that I am passionate about and patients and coworkers who inspire me every day. I believe that my work is a reflection of God’s will and what we do at Bridgewater brings a greater goodness to our world.
We hope that we can help you or your loved one.
Sincerely,
Dr. Sally Baerman

What Can I Expect at My First Appointment?
Relax and take a deep breath… you are not alone! Most patients are anxious about this process in the beginning but try not to worry! Our patients are like family, and we will go to great lengths to make you feel at home and comfortable during this appointment. We will walk you through it every step of the way.
- We will gather a detailed case history. You will be asked about medical symptoms, family history, and daily communication struggles.
- Audiometric testing will be completed inside a sound-treated booth to quantify the type and degree of hearing loss you may have. (Remember, it may not be permanent hearing loss, which is one reason why the exam is so important.)
- We’ll counsel you on the results and treatment options. It’s a good idea to bring a close family member with you for this.
- Referrals to other specialists may be indicated based on results.
The entire appointment generally lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours.

I'm so glad I chose Bridgewater for Hearing Care. The staff was pleasant, professional and attuned to needs of hearing impaired. Dr. Breeden made adjustments to my hearing aid and I am now hearing more clearly than I have in 10 years. Thank you for the best present ever.
